ABOUT Yala Peak (5520m) Climbing

Yala Peak is one of Nepal’s easier trekking peaks which is suited to the north of Kathmandu Valley in the beautiful Langtang valley. It is one of easier trekking peak where climbers don’t need any specific mountaineering experience.  Yala Peak is located at the border between Nepal and Tibet. From the summit, you’ll have superb views of several snow covered mountains of Nepal and Tibet such as Lantang Lirung, DorjeLakpa, Ganesh Himal, Naya Kanga, Gangchempo and the famous 8000m peak Shishapangma.

This trip is most suitable for those who wish to stand on a Himalayan summit but have a limited amount of time available and also it is most probably it is the cheapest trip to climb the peaks. This trip offers the best thrill of adventure trekking and peak climbing in the Langtang region way beyond simply hiking.

Trip Itinerary

  1. 1 Kathmandu

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m), transfer to hotel

    Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel Vaishali*** or similar hotel.

  2. 2 Kathmandu-Syafru Bensi

    Drive: Kathmandu-Syafru Bensi (1500m). 6/7 hrs drive.

    After breakfast in Kathmandu hotel, you’ll drive to Syafru Bensi. The driving to Syafru Bensi will follow the beautiful scenic Pasang Lhamu Highway towards Nepal-Tibet border. The road follows the Trishuli River through beautiful landscape of farming, villages and valleys. From starting point of Langtang national park, you’ll see beautiful views of mountains including Langtang Lirung (7234m) in front. After checking permits at Dhunche, the head quarter of Rasuwa, you’ll drive about 25 minutes to reach Syafrun Bensi which is located the bank of Bhotekoshi River. Overnight at lodge

  3. 3 Syafru Bensi-Lama Hotel

    Trek: Syafru Bensi-Lama Hotel (2500m). 4/5 hrs walk. Overnight at lodge

    After breakfast at Syafru Bensi, you’ll head toward Langtang valley following the Bhote Koshi River, which originates in Tibet, and the Langtang Khola. You’ll ascent to past Bamboo Village, which is famous for its resident red pandas. And then you’ll reach Lama Hotel. Overnight at lodge

  4. 4 Lama Hotel- Langtang Village (3430m)

    Trek:  Lama Hotel- Langtang Village (3430m). 5/6 hrs walk. Overnight at Lodge

    After breakfast at Lama Hotel, you’ll trek to Langtang Village through ascending up the mountain. The trail follows forests of pink and white rhododendron, hemlock, oak and gorgeous valley of Langtang. From Ghodatabela you’ll enter to the heart of Langtang Valley where you’ll find the houses with flat-topped Tibetan-style, crop fields, and yak grazing grounds. Upon arrival at Langtang you’ll check-in at lodge. Overnight at lodge

  5. 5 Langtang Village- Kyangjin Gompa

    Trek:  Langtang Village- Kyangjin Gompa. ¾ hrs walk (3830m). Overnight at lodge

    Langtang Village was really nice village. But the devasted earthquake of 25th April 2015, the whole villages was destroyed and took lives of more than hundred local people. But now you’ll see new village developing over there. After breakfast at Langtang, today you’ll have very short walk to Kyangjin where you’ll reach there for lunch time. On the way you’ll be greeted by Mani walls. On you’ll view beautiful mountain landscape on the way to Kyanhjin. Upon reaching at Kyangji, you’ll check-in lodge and you’ll have free to lunch and rest. Overnight at lodge

  6. 6 Acclimatization Day

    Acclimatization Day. Hike Tsergo-Ri (4985m). Overnight at lodge

    Today is fully free to rest and hiking around for acclimatization. You may walk around the village, upto Kyanjin Gompa to adjust altitude. The monastery for which the village is named is well-worth a visit, as is the renowned cheese factory. For those willing to stretch their legs, they can to either Kyanjin Ri (behind the village) or Tsergo Ri (4985m). It provides breathtaking panoramas of the Langtang peaks and acclimatization too.   7. 7 Kyangjin Gompa- Yala Base Camp

    Trek:  Kyangjin Gompa- Yala Base Camp (4600m) .5/6 hrs walk. Overnight at tented camp

    After acclimatization in Kyangjin Gompa, you’ll head toward the base camp of Yala Peak. It will take about 5/6 hrs walk to reach Base camp. Upon arrival at base camp, we shall set up our first tented camp at base camp. Overnight at tented camp.

  8. 8 Preparation Day for Climbing at Base Camp

    Today you’ll learn some basic mountaineering skills and plan for tomorrow’s summit. Overnight at tented camp

  9. 9 Summit Yala Peak Peak

    Summit Yala Peak Peak (alt. 5520m)  and back to Kyangjin (3830m). 7/8 hrs walk. Overnight at lodge

    Very earlier morning, you’ll attempt summit of Yala Peak. After summit you’ll back to base camp for lunch. And after pack up, you’ll trek to Kyangjin Gompa. Overnight at lodge

  10. 10 Kyangjin Gompa- Lama Hotel

    Trek:  Kyangjin Gompa- Lama Hotel (2500m). 4/5 hrs walk. Overnight at lodge

    After breakfast at Kyangjin, you’ll trek to Lama Hotel and it will take 4/5 hrs. Overnight at lodge

  11. 11 : Lama Hotel- Syafru Bensi

    Trek: Lama Hotel- Syafru Bensi (1500m). 5/6 hrs walk. Overnight at lodge

    After breakfast at Lama Hotel, you’ll trek to Syafru Bensi which will take about 6 hrs. Overnight at lodge

  12. 12 Syafru Bensi-Kathmandu

    Drive: Syafru Bensi-Kathmandu (alt. 1310m)

  13. 13 Kathmandu

    Kathmandu Free Day. Evening Farewell Dinner.  O/N at  hotel

    Today you’ve fully free day for relax and final shopping. As an option you can visit following sites too:

    • Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva;
    • One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares , a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city.
    • Boudhnnanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centred on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora. For more information and cost for this visit, please ask to tour officer. 

    In the evening you’ll have farewell dinner at local authentic Nepalese restaurant.  Overnight at Hotel

    Departure from Kathmandu, transfer to airport

    Depending on  your flight time, you’ll be transfer to airport before 3 hrs of flight time.
